Governance of the School for Strings
Founded in the year 2000, from a grant by the St. Clair County Community Foundation, the School for Strings of St. Clair County is a 501 3C non profit organization. Families and supporters of the School and its mission may become voting members of the corporation for an annual fee of $5 per family per year.
Members elect a Board of Directors at its annual meeting, usually held in December. The Board elects its officers at the following general Board meeting.
The Board places responsibility for daily operations of the school, including instructional decisions, scheduling, hiring, training and supervision of faculty and staff, to its appointed Executive Director. Several paid and volunteer staff assist the Executive Director.
Parents and participants may contact any member of the Board with questions and concerns.
